From the Caribbean to South Africa to New Zealand – in almost every country in the world, baked goods are produced with Koenig machines. Innovation, flexibility, a strong international focus and high-quality machines have been key success factors for Koenig. For 59 years, the Koenig Group has been supplying bakeries worldwide with high-quality, sophisticated bakery machines, ovens and bread roll lines. Constant innovation ensures the company’s leading position worldwide. Since its foundation in 1966, Koenig’s main objective has been to support bakers in their daily work. Koenig has focused on international orientation and exports since its foundation. In addition, Koenig also has a high vertical range of manufacture with domestic added value. This already starts with metal casting and extends to the production of highly complex plant components. This depth means that Koenig is less affected by fluctuations on the procurement markets and has been able to grow sustainably even in times of crisis. With the acquisition of the Finnish cooling spiral manufacturer Vulganus Oy in mid-2022, the Koenig Group further expanded its position in industrial complete plant engineering.
The König Group has around 750 employees. With subsidiaries in Austria, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Finland, the Netherlands and the USA as well as a worldwide network of sales partners, König achieves an export quota of 90%. Our goal is to simplify the production and increase the quality of baked goods – while maintaining the artisanal character of your products.
In 2005, Koenig founded a US-based subsidiary for on-site customer service and sales in the USA. Ever since, Koenig Bakery Systems has continuously grown with a warehouse for fast spare parts delivery located in Ashland, Virginia and service and sales throughout the USA.
At iba 2025, we are introducing an entirely new approach to engaging with our visitors. For the first time, we will showcase the full portfolio of the Koenig Group in a unified presentation. This exciting collaboration brings together Koenig, Fortuna, and Vulganus under one roof, highlighting the collective expertise and innovation of our brands.
Beyond showcasing our equipment, we are placing great emphasis on connecting visitors with the people behind the Koenig Group. Dedicated areas will feature specialists from various fields, including sales and solutions, research and development, and after-sales service, ensuring a comprehensive and personal experience for all attendees.
We are bundling our resources within the Koenig Group to provide solutions with a competitive price-performance-ratio. Koenig will increasingly position itself as a one-stop solution provider in order to accompany traditional craftsmanship into a successful future with innovative technology.
Due to future market requirements, we will increasingly invest in areas that offer additional added value for our customers, such as digitalisation or automisation. Sustainability, guidelines and legal regulations will be framework conditions that need to be taken into account more and more in the future. Our research and development teams at Koenig, Fortuna, and Vulganus comprise specialists dedicated to innovation. Through regular knowledge-sharing sessions, they draw insights from various departments, ensuring a cross-disciplinary approach. Together, we meticulously evaluate and refine ideas, selecting those with the greatest potential to shape the future.
