Syntegon will be presenting its range of processing and packaging solutions at Pack Expo, which will be held in Chicago, Illinois this year, October 23-26. Visitors to the company’s booth can expect insights into robotic handling soluti0ns, automation technologies and sustainable concepts for primary and secondary packaging.
“We not only unite our renowned brands like Kliklok, Doboy, Elematic, Makat, Woodman, Osgood and Sigpack under a common Syntegon umbrella, we also offer various technologies that cater to different needs and facilitate the shift towards future-proof and sustainable packaging processes for our customers,” explained Brad Baker, Sales Director North America at Syntegon.
As part of an ongoing trend towards automated handling solutions, Syntegon will present the launch of its new Intelligent Direct Handling (IDH) pick and place system for cookies, biscuits, crackers and chocolate for the first time. The smooth movements of the motors ensures gentle handling of the products, and increased production speeds as it can pick up many products simultaneously.
Another solution on display at the Pack Expo booth will be its SVE 2520 Doy Zip vertical bagger and Elematic 3001 WA wraparound case packer. The system packages chocolate buttons into resealable Doy Zip bags to keep the confectionery fresh. The machine can process all other common bag formats to feed them to the Elematic 3001 WA which boasts flexibility and easy changeovers.
Syntegon will also be exhibiting the continuous band sealer CBS-D for vertical and horitzontal formats. The bag sealer is able to process a variety of products from food to non-food and medical items, and can be added to existing packaging lines.
Thanks to the Kliklok ACE carton erector, the company is able to offer full flexibility for cartons and the ability to create sustainable cookie trays. The ACE folds glue-free trays made of paper and allows manufacturers to replace conventional plastics with a recyclable alternative.
“By integrating automated systems and sustainable technologies, we support food companies that need to react to dynamic market trends quickly,” Mr Baker added.
Makat, a Syntegon company, will also have experts on hand to offer consulting on producing a variety of sweets such as jelly or candy. Its latest innovation is the starchless depositing turnkey solution, to cater for growing demand for functional and medicated sweets.
