Mr. Bernd Gewecke is the Managing Director Sales Milk Products, Ingredients & Contract Processing at Uelzena eG and
has decades of experience in the dairy industry. In his role, he is responsible for the dairy ingredients divison which even includes contract drying and manufacturing services. He also oversees the sales team with key account managers, the order processing team and product development department for ingredients and contract drying.
What solutions do you offer for the bakery industry? What are their main benefits for bakers?
Uelzena eG is a dairy cooperative with a strong focus on the production of milk-based ingredients for the confectionery,
chocolate, bakery and food industries, which we supply with ingredients such as butter, butterfat, cream, skimmed milk powder and sweetened condensed milk. In the butterfat sector, we are the largest manufacturer in Germany and one of the
major producers in Europe. We are an authorised supplier to many well-known brand manufacturers of confectionery and bakery products.
Our product range of milk fats for the bakery industry goes well beyond the usual range provided by other dairies. In this area, we are positioned as a full range supplier, for example we supply everything from 10g portioned butter to complete tank trucks with butterfat. Our range includes German branded butter, baker’s butter with carotene, lamination butter for making puff pastries as sheets or blocks, pure anhydrous milk fat, concentrated butter with added vanillin or carotene, as well as individually and tailor made developed compounds based on milk fat – which is one of our strengths.
We supply customers from both the bakery industry and the artisanal bakery trade. Thanks to the extensive range mentioned above, these different target groups can find the right milk fat for every application as well as optimal packaging
for their individual production requirements. If this isn’t the case, we also offer the development of customised product solutions for our customers.
Thanks to our many years of experience and our production technologies, some of which are very specialised, our milk fat products are of a consistently high quality and have optimised processing properties at all times of the year. Due to
the seasonal fluctuations in the composition of our raw material milk, this is not something that can be taken for granted.
