Baker Eric Lyons launches UK-wide shop

West Midlands-based and family-run baker Eric Lyons is expanding its online shop, giving consumers across the country the chance to have their favourite meats, baked goods and more, delivered straight to their door.

The expansion marks the butchers’ first steps into UK shipping and comes in time for spring, with shoppers now able to order their meat and savoury essentials in preparation for Mother’s Day and Easter, direct from the farm shop in Knowle, Solihull.

Customers across the UK can choose from a range of meat – including beef, pork, lamb and poultry – burgers and BBQ, ready meals, a deli selection, fruit and veg, condiments, breads and savoury and sweet pies, as well as luxury hampers, all at the click of a button.

Nick Lyons, co-owner and director of Eric Lyons, said: “We have become a much-loved butcher in the West Midlands, so it only felt right to expand our offering and give people across the UK a chance to try our range of meats and handcrafted products.

“Our pies are our flagship product, with customers travelling hours to try them, and following the success of our local delivery service we wanted to grow our customer base and give people the chance to purchase these products with ease.”

The butchers, which is now being co-run by the fifth generation of the Lyons family Nick and Dan, was founded in the 1800s and taken over by Phil Lyons in 1901 – the pair’s great, great grandfather. Expanding the online shop is testament to Eric Lyons’ ambitious growth and success within the region.

Nick added: “We’re so excited to be launching the new offering in time for spring, our team is fully prepared to ensure our customers receive a high level of service and the best quality products.

“Our mission has always been to bring together locally-grown produce and our home-grown passion for good, honest food – and this is reflected in our online shop.”

The Solihull butchers also expanding its premises last year with the help of £150,000 investment from Lloyds Bank, which was provided as part of the government’s Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CBILS).

All produce is sourced from British suppliers and local farmers, where possible, and breads, pies and pastries are hand crafted in-house daily by Eric Lyons baker, using only the best ingredients.

All customers can get their first order free when they sign up to the mailing list. Free postage is available on orders over £80 and postage starts from £6.99. Eric Lyons also offers free local delivery within a five-mile radius when customers spend more than £30 and click and collect is available.
