Birds Bakery raises over £95,000 for charity

British bakery, Birds Bakery, has announced that it raised an impressive £95,955.51 for charity during the 2023/2024 period.

The amount was distributed among several organisations including £63,123 to Mind Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire, £18,500 to the Turkey & Syria Appeal and £800 to the Poppy Appeal.

In spring, Birds Bakery supported National Doughnut Week, a nationwide initiative from The Children’s Trust. The bakery created a limited edition double chocolate créme pat-filled doughnut with 25p from each sale going to The Children’s Trust, the UK’s leading charity for children with brain injuries.

Looking ahead, Birds Bakery is excited to announce that they’ll be supporting Cancer Research in the coming year.

Lesley Bird, chief operating officer of Birds Bakery, expressed her excitement and gratitude for the achievements of the past year:

“We are incredibly proud of what Birds Bakery has achieved in the past year with charitable contributions. We’d like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our loyal customers for their unwavering support, as our continued success would not be possible without them. Our commitment to giving back to the community will remain strong as we move into 2024 and beyond.”

Birds Bakery, a beloved institution in the East Midlands, operates 61 stores across the region, including key locations such as Derby, Nottingham, and Leicester. Beyond their physical stores, many Birds products can also be ordered online and delivered directly to customers’ homes through the Birds By Post service.
