Café Valley, a manufacturer and distributor of bakery products to in-store bakery and foodservice channels, has announced its acquisition of the assets of Freed’s Bakery, a New Hampshire-based company which produces iced mini cupcakes to its customers.
Freed’s is best known for its vanilla and chocolate 12-count and 24-count cupcakes topped with varying colours and designs, as the company has said it continuously evolves its seasonal and core everyday offerings to match the changing needs of consumers and the market. With the acquisition, Café Valley will be able to add iced mini cupcakes to its product offerings.
“This is an exciting time to be a leader in the bakery business. The acquisition of Freed’s is a key step that expands our leadership position in thaw and sell baked goods. Our everyday and seasonally targeted range of iced mini cupcakes offers an indulgent, snack sized treat ideal for special events and gatherings,” said Brian Owens, CEO, Café Valley. “Iced mini cupcakes are a perfect complement to our core business of cakes, muffins, coffee cake bites, and croissants, and will provide a key growth area for our retail and foodservice partners. We are incredibly excited to be able to better serve our customers with this acquisition.”
“This opportunity offers tremendous growth opportunities for both Café Valley and our partners. We are known for our intense customer focus and mini iced cupcakes will give us an additional avenue to support our loyal partners,” addedGary Coyle, Vice President of In-Store Bakery.
