COFALEC, the European Confederation of Yeast Producers, successfully hosted its 66th General Assembly in Naples, where Carlotta Trucillo was nominated as the association’s new Secretary General.
This transition marks an important new chapter for the association, as Carlotta takes over from Diane Doré, who has led COFALEC with dedication and professionalism over the past years. Carlotta Trucillo, who brings experience in public affairs, stakeholder engagement and agri-food sector policy, shared: “It is a real honour to take on this role. I’m grateful for the trust of the COFALEC Board and membership, and I am committed to building on the excellent work done until now. I look forward to working closely with our members, partners and institutional stakeholders to promote the vital contribution of the yeast industry to Europe’s food ecosystem”.
The appointment was made official during a vibrant General Assembly, which brought together over 75 participants from across Europe. The event also featured a presentation by Antonio Tassone (ASSIPAN) on the European craft bakers’ market and concluded with a gala dinner celebrating industry collaboration and future prospects.
Vincent Saingier, President of COFALEC, reflected on the success of the event: “I am delighted with the outcome of this year’s General Assembly in Naples. The high level of participation, the quality of discussions, and the warm atmosphere made it a truly memorable occasion. It was the perfect setting to welcome Carlotta Trucillo as our new Secretary General. We are confident that her energy, experience, and fresh perspective will be great assets to COFALEC and its members”.
The Assembly also marked the announcement of COFALEC’s headquarters relocating from Paris to Brussels, a strategic move to strengthen the association’s proximity and engagement with EU institutions.
