Create Christmas Bakes with Kells

Kells, the Irish millers and bakery experts, have a range of quality products that are ideal for helping bakers make the most of the festive season easily and efficiently.

After last year’s Christmas, consumers are expected to make the most of this year’s festive celebrations and will be looking for ready prepared bakes and treats to save them time in the kitchen. As a result, bakers need to be ready to maximise sales.

For a great-tasting Christmas cake that takes only moments to prepare, Kells’ Farmhouse Cake Mix is hard to beat. Renowned for its delicious taste and versatility, this lightly spiced fruit cake requires vegetable oil, water and dried fruit.

Indulgence has been a big trend over the past two years and this is expected to continue at Christmas with sales of celebration cakes likely to be popular. Kells’ range of flavoured cakes including Chocolate, Coffee, Red Velvet, Toffee and Lemon can be used to make a host of festive bakes from Yule logs to Christmas themed cupcakes and sponges.

Trifle is a perennial family festive favourite and Kells’ Sponge Cake Mix makes a delicious trifle sponge. Containing natural flavours with no added colours, bakers just need to add egg and water.

But it’s not just all about the sweet treats, fresh bread is also going to be popular, including Kells’ flagship Nore Soda Bread Mix, which is the perfect partner with Irish smoked salmon. Bakers can also add seasonal additions, such as cranberries and walnuts, to extend the range of breads. The mix delivers a high-quality brown soda bread with a green/brown hue in the crumb, distinctive flavour and a sweet, creamy aroma and – like all Kells mixes – is easy to use.

Commenting on the opportunities for bakers at Christmas, MD of Kells, Robert Mosse, says: “After a challenging year for bakers, this festive season is an especially important time for bakers to increase sales. The Kells range will help them maximise time and resource by delivering a high-quality range of festive cakes and bakes.”
