Bakery manufacturer and distributor Dawn Foods has announced the sale of its frozen bakery manufacturing business in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and the Pacific (AMEAP) to Europastry.
The sale will include Dawn’s frozen bakery manufacturing plant located in The Netherlands, R&D capabilities in Evesham, UK and all other associated customer relationships in the region purchasing Dawn-produced frozen products.
Speaking on the sale, Dawn Foods CEO Carrie Jones-Barber spoke of being partners with Europastry “for many years”.
“Dawn and Europastry have been partners for many years, providing great American bakery products to customers across Europe and AMEAP,” said Carrie Jones-Barber, CEO of Dawn Foods. “As we continue to focus on our long-term strategic goals, Dawn’s focus in the Europe & AMEAP region is on driving growth in bakery ingredients. We look forward to continuing to work with Europastry, along with all customers in this region, to help them grow their business with our fantastic bakery ingredients and tailored solutions.”
Dawn Foods will continue to manufacture and distribute their bakery ingredients across Europe & AMEAP, North America and Latin America.
Europastry is a global company involved in frozen bakery and today has more than 22 production plants with a presence in more than 80 countries. Earlier this year, the company created its first carbon neutral production line for the production of PopDots.
The new production line, located at the Oldenzaal plant in the Netherlands, was expected to create 50 new jobs and is fully customisable; offering PopDots a range of toppings and fillings. Being carbon neutral, the line operates with electricity powered by renewable sources and by using waste heat generated from motors.
