Fedima opens €20,000 Grant Scheme to Support Local Bakers

Fedima, the European federation representing the bakery, patisserie, and confectionery ingredients sector, is proud to announce the opening of the application period for the Fedima Grant for Local Sustainable Initiatives.

This grant of €20,000 aims to support small businesses, bakeries, craft bakers, and research institutes across Europe in developing sustainable solutions that drive environmental, social, and economic progress within the industry.

As sustainability continues to be a core priority for the bakery sector, this initiative seeks to foster innovation in areas such as circular economy, waste reduction, sustainable packaging, responsible sourcing, energy efficiency, and nutrition.

“Sustainability is not just an aspiration, it is a necessity for the long-term resilience of our industry and the communities it serves. Through this grant, we want to encourage local initiatives that can create real, lasting change,” said Jean-Philippe Michaux, Chair of Fedima’s Sustainability Committee.

The Fedima Grant is open to small businesses, bakeries, craft bakers, and research institutes located in the EU, EFTA countries, the UK, and Turkey. Eligible projects should contribute to sustainable development in the bakery, patisserie, or confectionery food chain.

“By supporting those who are leading the way in sustainable practices, we hope to inspire broader industry-wide progress”, said Thomas Lesaffre, President of Fedima.

Applications are open from April 1st to June 30th, 2025, and interested applicants can find more information and submit their proposals at www.grant.fedima.org.
