Hygienic and innovative packing solution: FRITSCH at iba 2025

FRITSCH demonstrated continuity at iba 2025 in Düsseldorf, showcasing a new pastry line with a hygienic design, good accessibility, and easy handling. Visitors also had the opportunity to explore MULTIVAC’s Cooling@Packing solution—an innovative concept for cooling baked goods within a packaging machine.

With the PROGRESSA pastry, FRITSCH unveiled a new line tailored for bakery chains, impressing with its hygienic construction and ease of use. “With the new line, we address three key customer requirements: quick cleaning, easy operation, and high flexibility regarding the handling of accessories. Discussions with our customers were extremely promising, and we can look back on a very successful trade fair,” reported Nico Haßmann, Managing Director of FRITSCH. With four live demonstrations daily at iba, visitors could witness the line in action firsthand.

The new PROGRESSA pastry line is characterised by the consistent use of smooth surfaces, waterproof thread covers, and rounded corners that prevent dirt accumulation, while also being suitable for wet cleaning. Thanks to the “omega drives,” the belts can be completely relaxed within seconds, enabling quick and easy cleaning underneath.

The newly designed folding plough system allows rapid, flexible changeover to new products and ensures consistently reproducible results thanks to its user-friendly adjustment features. The redesigned coiling-in roller now features a folding mechanism and is significantly lighter in weight, making it easy to remove and thoroughly clean in just a few simple steps. The flour dusters’ brushes can be removed without tools, and a continuously adjustable spreading ruler further enhances usability. The line is completed by a compact dough piece deposition unit with a double extension. Another new element is the clearly laid out control system, which is simple and intuitive to operate.

Also featured at the FRITSCH stand was MULTIVAC’s innovative Cooling@Packing solution. This vacuum application integrates the cooling process for baked goods directly into a thermoforming packaging machine, enabling immediate packaging after baking and thereby keeping products fresher for longer.

“As a group, we offer our customers a wide range of solutions. Alongside the new PROGRESSA pastry line, we presented the MULTIVAC Cooling@Packing system—an innovative vacuum application that enables baked goods to be cooled directly within a thermoforming packaging machine,” explained Christian Traumann, CEO of the MULTIVAC Group, highlighting the close collaboration within the group. “FRITSCH and the bakery segment play a key role in MULTIVAC’s strategy. The group continues to invest to secure long-term success. FRITSCH is currently constructing a new headquarters in Franconia, which will consolidate all its business activities at a single site.”
