Who’s Who – CEPI

CEPI marks 40 years of innovation, combining family roots, global reach, and a commitment to customised, sustainable technology

It was 1985 when CEPI began their adventure in Forlì, at the foot of the Apennine mountains, where our families trace their origins. First the Ceccarellis and Milanesis, then the Montaltis and Riccardis. And now they celebrate their fortieth anniversary since they began designing and manufacturing systems for the storage, transportation, and dosing of raw materials.

In 2025, CEPI’s turnover is 41 million euros, with a workforce of 172 people. They work with 66 countries across five continents, taking part in more than 20 trade show events worldwide. They have completed more than two thousand deliveries and over a thousand shipments, with around 350 construction sites including service and revamping, and a thousand missions. Since the beginning, they have launched around 5,000 installations, with an average of 110 exclusive turnkey systems each year.

“Welcome to the beat” is the motto CEPI chose for their anniversary, and it perfectly represents how central relationships are to them.

All CEPI’s families used to live in the Forlì Apennines, mostly as farmers between the municipalities of Bagno di Romagna and Santa Sofia. From the outset, this led to a pluralistic and democratic approach to governance, placing technology firmly at the heart of their work. These two intrinsic and consistent themes in their mission have not only steadily driven their growth but added irreplaceable value for the users of their installations. CEPI is not just a business venture, but an idea factory—where innovation constantly emerges from deep engagement with each aspect of the customer’s unique processes and the need to develop increasingly specialised solutions, resulting in an unparalleled technological range within their sector.

The installation as a whole is the most important product, rather than any single machine, and customisation is the most important service. This system-based thinking—where technological development intersects with relationship-building—has defined CEPI’s history. It has shaped the company’s identity and fostered the growth not only of business partnerships but also of ties with the local community, the desire to support students and research, and to cultivate a strong sense of belonging and pride within the team. That is exactly what a heartbeat is for: it spreads life force and energy from the inside out, but it is mutually enriching, connecting through common goals.

When we look at CEPI’s timeline, we see many milestones: the launch of their automation department, the start of direct silo manufacture, their first international trade shows, partnerships formed across continents, the steady introduction of new technologies, and relocations to new headquarters—each move a testament to CEPI’s growth. The product, the method, the process, and the innovation itself are all tailor-made. This is why CEPI has internalised almost the entirety of its processes.

Bulk-handling involves more than just silos, and CEPI’s method considers all operations in their totality and how they interact with one another. With this systematic thinking, we design dosing systems by thoroughly analysing customer processes, considering every aspect from raw materials to marketing and future production projections, in order to create flexible solutions that can easily accommodate future developments. This is what makes our systems so durable and aligned with the principles of the circular economy model.
