The UK are in the midst of panic and shut down measures in order to contain Coronavirus as the cases ramp up to 3,269 and 144 deaths at the time of writing. Panic buying has ensued across the country, with many people stockpiling necessities like toilet paper, hand soap, hand sanitiser, pasta, rice and tinned foods. This panic buying has caused a strain on organisations like food banks and homeless shelters, as well as the elderly and vulnerable who haven’t been able to get to the shops, however Battle Snacks have an answer.
Companies in the food and beverage industry are coming out to pledge their support and most recently, Battle Snacks, a company which make grab and go snacks you can feel good about eating, with high protein and low sugar, have written a statement to customers outlining their efforts to create a positive difference amongst the chaos.
The statement from Battle Snacks read: “During this challenging time we have decided to try to do our bit to help FEED THE NATION and support the most vulnerable.
“For every box bought on our website, we will match your order and donate the same quantity to the Trussell Trust who run the nation’s food banks through our local branch here in East Yorkshire.
“All orders will also receive a 30% discount automatically calculated at the checkout.
“Our products are healthy and delicious without the calorie or carb count of most store-bought confections, all made in a UK bakery with long shelf life.
“Example: if you buy 2x boxes (any product) we will donate 2 boxes to a food bank, and so on.
“Thank you for your support. This is a war against an invisible enemy and we can battle it out, together.”
