Bakery Live introduces Heather Burgess

With one day to go before the much anticipated virtual bakery event, Bakery Live 2023 are pleased to announce their next speaker ahead of the virtual event taking place on 20-21 June; Heather Burgess, Marketing & Insights Manager at St Pierre Groupe.

With a background in market research, Heather leads on consumer insights for St Pierre Groupe as Marketing & Insights Manager.

Prior to joining St Pierre, Heather worked as a market research specialist with an impressive track record across a range of FMCG categories including chocolate, cakes, sausages, soft drinks and pet food, giving her extensive knowledge of consumer needs and motivations across multiple meal types and occasions.

Heather joined St Pierre Groupe in 2019, working as a brand manager for the Paul Hollywood Ready to Bake brand before creating a role in 2021 focused on the business’s needs for in-depth consumer research and analysis.

Combining bespoke qualitative and quantitative research with continuous shopper panel data, Heather develops and delivers valuable insights to the business that steer marketing strategy and support product development, category management & sales initiatives.

In her presentation at Bakery Live, Heather will be discussing St Pierre’s brand and how it is built to last. She will cover the future of the bakery sector and its continued growth is reliant on brands that are built to last. The session will look at the importance of building lasting consumer confidence, offering real examples and tangible results of increased customer loyalty.

Heather will provide an overview of why it is that bakery needs trusted brands to deliver on innovation and consumer education in a way that private label and novelty brands simply cannot. The presentation will include case studies that highlight innovative ways to drive basket spend, purchase frequency and footfall in the bakery segment, as well as how product – and brand – development must emanate from an understanding and interpretation of shopper needs. Of course, brands are expected to deliver on sustainability, but how do you ensure that a brand is also built to last with consumers?
