BENEO recently announced the appointment of Dr Mike Eberle as the newest member of its Executive Board of Directors, effective from 1 March 2024. In his new role, Eberle will be responsible for overseeing Operations at BENEO.
Eberle, who holds a PhD in Chemistry from the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany, brings nearly three decades of experience within the international food and beverage sector with him.
He began his career with positions held at Unilever in both Germany and The Netherlands. Following this, he has held leadership roles in production, supply chain, logistics, and operations at leading food and drink manufacturers. Most recently, Eberle was positioned as the Chief Operations Officer at Rotkäppchen, a sparkling wine producer based in Germany.
As part of the new role at BENEO, Eberle will be responsible for Operations including production, technology, supply chain management, quality, raw material, health, safety and environmental protection, as well as sustainability.
His appointment comes at a pivotal time as BENEO continues to focus on the sustainable development of its plant-based functional ingredients portfolio. This includes the launch of its first barley beta-glucans ingredient, Orafti β-Fit, a wholegrain barley flour that the company introduced in July 2023, in response to consumer demands for plant-based and healthy ingredients.
“I am very happy to join the BENEO team. The company is a leading player for plant-based functional ingredients worldwide. My ambition is to grow BENEO’s operational excellence further and make sure we use our planet’s resources in a sustainable way,” commented Dr Mike Eberle. “Both the experienced team and the production sites around the globe are well set to do so. Passion is a key driver to being successful and I am more than confident that we will succeed as a team.”
