Two Magpies, known for its handmade sourdough bread and hand-laminated pastries, can now add Best Bakery to its list of accolades after becoming the county winner for Suffolk in this year’s National Bakery Awards.
The cafe and bakery group, which celebrated its ten year anniversary in April, has grown from small beginnings since opening its Southwold store in 2013 and now registers seven further locations in Aldeburgh, Norwich, Darsham, Holt, Blakeney, Woodbridge, and Beccles, as well as a central bakery and bakeschool in Darsham and an additional site that opens in Wells-Next-the -Sea in May.
“Receiving an award for Suffolk’s Best Bakery is a great achievement for Two Magpies in what is turning out to be a great year for the group. Not only are we celebrating ten successful years, but we are in a period of rapid growth across both Suffolk and Norfolk as demand for our produce continues,” said Yasmin Wyatt, Operations Director, Two Magpies. “This year we’ve introduced our new ‘Mini Magpies’ concept, with the first store in Beccles, and continue to deliver excellent customer service in our other bakery/cafes across the Suffolk and Norfolk. Winning this award is a testament to our hard working teams and all they do to uphold Two Magpie’s reputation and high quality standards.”
Two Magpies won ‘Best Bakery’ at the regional qualifying stage of the National Bakery Awards and will now go through to the Grand Final Awards in London on 12 July, 2023. No stranger to the limelight, the bakery group was awarded this same award in 2020, as well as Best Independent Retailer 2020 and Best Cafe in Suffolk (Aldeburgh) 2022.
