IMA’s DELTA VacMap™ is an innovative horizontal flow wrapping machine that combines vacuum technology with modified atmosphere packaging (MAP), delivering advanced product preservation and extended shelf life for bakery manufacturers.

Designed particularly for spongy bakery products and oxygen-sensitive foods, the machine brings together the preservation capabilities traditionally associated with thermoforming and the flexibility, efficiency and cost advantages of horizontal flow wrapping.

Advanced preservation and packaging performance

At the heart of DELTA VacMap™ is an integrated inline vacuum system that removes residual oxygen trapped within porous or spongy products. Combined with modified atmosphere packaging, this technology helps extend product freshness, maintain packaging integrity and reduce the risk of premature deterioration.

Unlike conventional thermoforming systems, DELTA VacMap™ provides comparable shelf-life performance while offering lower material and labour costs, faster throughput and greater flexibility in packaging design.

Its compatibility with fully printed registered films enables manufacturers to create attractive, high-quality packs that maximise shelf appeal without compromising preservation.

The system is particularly relevant for industrial bakeries seeking reliable packaging solutions for products where oxygen management, freshness and consistent pack quality are essential.

Flexible operation and sustainable efficiency

One of DELTA VacMap™’s defining innovations is its ability to operate in three distinct modes: conventional Flow Wrap, MAP and VacMap™. This versatility enables manufacturers to adapt packaging processes to different product requirements using a single machine.

A fully automatic product feeding and handling system reduces operator involvement while supporting consistent throughput and production efficiency. Fast size changeovers provide additional flexibility, helping manufacturers respond to changing product formats and production demands.

The machine also incorporates a hygienic, easy-clean design, supporting efficient maintenance and high food safety standards.

Compatibility with recyclable packaging materials strengthens its sustainability credentials, while reduced material consumption compared with thermoforming offers further opportunities to improve resource efficiency.

By integrating advanced vacuum technology, modified atmosphere packaging and flexible flow wrapping within one platform, IMA Ilapak’s DELTA VacMap™ represents a significant development in bakery packaging machinery, combining shelf-life performance, operational versatility and cost efficiency.
