The modular HFX platform is one of two platforms engineered for neXt – Syntegon’s factory of the future system architecture (read more about neXt: Automation for Resilient Packaging Lines | Syntegon). The new flow wrapping platform today consists of two executions: the HFX5 and the HFX3. The HFX3 is designed to accommodate a broad range of products and flow-wrapping applications. At PACK EXPO International, Syntegon will showcase the new HFX3 for medium- to high-speed production. The platform supports a range of cold- and heat-sealing technologies to help manufacturers achieve their desired package results. It is designed to process a variety of film materials, including paper-based materials, without compromise.
Modular flexibility and high-speed performance
A key benefit of the HFX3 is its modular flexibility. Sealing technologies can be retrofitted at a later stage, while modular neXt software features can be added as production requirements change. This enables manufacturers to configure the machine for current applications while staying ready for future upgrades.
The HFX3 reaches speeds of up to 1,000 products per minute and supports product lengths from 2 to 12 inches and product widths from 0.5 to 7.5 inches. The machine is suitable for high-speed bar wrapping, multipacks, cookies and crackers arranged in slugs or piles, and applications using robotic pick-and-place feeding. Its modular platform offers rotating and Box Motion sealing options for flexible pack styles and sealing requirements.
Smart automation and sustainable packaging
Smart neXt capabilities – including smart cameras for error recording and splice-accuracy monitoring, Guide-by-Light, a digital logbook, 3D error visualisation and mobile myHMI access – support fast troubleshooting, quality control and high overall equipment effectiveness.
Designed for reliable 24/7 operation, the HFX3 combines robust construction, intuitive operation and reduced maintenance requirements. Its strict separation of product and packaging-material handling from drive elements supports high hygiene standards. Integrated drive motors and daisy-chain wiring reduce cabling, improve accessibility and simplify cleaning. Optimised sealing tools support mono-material films and paper-based packaging materials while helping reduce waste and maintain attractive package quality.
