Established in 2010, Plant-Ex Ingredients Ltd is a company that manufactures Natural colours and colouring foodstuffs, Top Note Flavours, Natural Extracts and Food Protection Systems, developed from a one person company to a technically accomplished organization with 80+ employees, operating in more than 49 countries. Headquartered in the UK, the company’s rapid growth doesn’t seem to be slowing down:
- In 2018, Plant-Ex Ingredients Ltd purchased the assets of RD Campbell & Co Ltd in and transferred production of the Flavours from Twickenham to their BRC A Grade factory outside Bristol in the South West of the UK. Campbells was established in 1948 and the acquisition led to a revitalizing of some long-forgotten technologies – and to bring back some of Bob Campbell’s classic fishing bait flavours.
- In 2019, Plant-Ex Ingredients stepped onto the global platform with the creation of Plant-Ex Gida in Turkey. With a factory in Konya and sales offices in Istanbul in this geographically important location, the growth of the Turkish branch has recorded sales high after covid crises started to slow down and achieved industry standard accreditation BRC A grade in May 2021.
- In 2021, Plant-Ex UK made a further expansion to adding an 18,000 sq. ft. building at their main site, Access 18 in Avonmouth UK. The new building houses a Technical Support Facility combining four NPD laboratories for the key Divisions in the organisation; Natural Colours, Top Note Flavours, Extracts and Food Protection Systems, as well as a Development Kitchen, to further understand the impact of the company’s products in customer’s applications.The expansion also resulted in a doubling in the size of the production site which means that Plant-Ex is achieving greater output to meet the rise in demand. This co-incides with a doubling in size of our finished goods dispatch warehouse, incorporating a 150 pallet chilled store.
- In 2021, Plant-Ex opened another Branch outside of the UK this time in Poland, and Plant-Ex Polska is now up and running. With support from the UK team, Plant-Ex Polska have already established their logistics and storage operations. This means that EU clients can now avoid the extra delays and costs of Brexit customs issues. Having a branch in Poland is also a chance to extend sales activities in the Polish market, and other countries of central Europe. The aim is to bring a level of service excellence to our EU partners and customers and to become a driving force in the supply of Natural Colours, Top note Flavours and Extracts in Europe.
Plant-Ex has achieved a 15% year on year sales growth for the past decade and is now set to become an increasingly important player in the Global Colours and Flavours marketplace.
The company has also invested 1.5 million euros to improve the services provided and exceeded customer satisfaction and more than 10% of the organisation’s headcount working in the Research and Development laboratories – its safe to say that the best is yet to come….
