Bakery Live introduces Joanne Burns

Ahead of the must-attend virtual event Bakery Live happening this month, 21-22 February, we are pleased to announce our next speaker; Joanne Burns, Reformulation for Health Manager at Food and Drink Federation (FDF).

Joanne has over 20 years’ experience in the food and health industry. Since 2019 Joanne has developed and driven the Reformulation for Health programme to be a go-to voice in the Scottish food and drink sector, offering free support and guidance to all sectors of the food industry on product reformulation for health.

The Reformulation for Health programme is funded by the Scottish Government to support SME food and drink businesses to reformulate commonly consumed products and hosted by Food and Drink Federation.

As growing numbers of consumers become conscious of their lifestyle and diets, a major trend explored at Bakery Live will be looking to reformulate bakery products to be healthier, as bakers face associated production and technical challenges to reduce levels of fat, sugar and salt.

In her session at Bakery Live, Joanne will explore why product reformulation is essential for bakers wishing to futureproof their business and what the main drivers are to change recipes for health purposes. With growing demand driven by consumers and retailers for healthier options, in her session at Bakery Live Joanne will explore the principles and process of reformulation.

She will also illustrate solutions to help the bakery industry improve the health of their products, their consumers and ultimately their business.

Join 1000+ attendees from 83 countries in attending Bakery Live, the dedicated online platform for providing the latest insights and market trends for the global bakery industry.
