Karen Dear has had the privilege of working for the Craft Bakers Association (CBA) for 23 years. Before assuming the role of Chief Executive Officer in April 2023, she has held various positions within the association.
These roles have involved collaborating with CBA members to provide HR support, organising and executing successful member business events, and working with external stakeholders to offer relevant resources to assist our members in their businesses.
As Chief Executive her responsibilities include driving further growth and expansion of the CBA, enhancing the services provided to our members, and implementing the CBA’s agreed strategy and direction.
In her session at Bakery Live, Karen talks to Editor Caitlin Gittins in an exclusive interview about her focuses for the association going forward which includes growing the association and ensuring membership remains valuable to members; challenges faced by the bakery industry currently which includes high energy and ingredient costs; and how to resolve these challenges and present solutions.
