British Bakels, a producer of premium bakery ingredients, has expanded its chilled dessert range with the introduction of new Mousse Mixes, complementing its established Cheesecake Mix offering. The versatile, no-bake ‘Just Mix with Water and Chill’ range is designed to support efficient, high-quality dessert creation across bakery, foodservice and retail channels.

With the UK chilled desserts category worth €3.8 billion and growing at 3.2%[i], opportunities for flavour and format development continue to grow. The new mixes enable manufacturers, bakers and chefs to deliver indulgent, visually striking desserts with minimal preparation – simplifying production and accelerating innovation across commercial bakery operations.

Dan Jones, Marketing Manager at British Bakels, commented: “These mixes give our customers the freedom to innovate quickly, consistently and creatively. Whether you’re developing premium patisserie lines, limited-edition mousse pots or an everyday cheesecake range, the ‘Just Mix with Water and Chill’ format makes it easy to execute ideas at scale.”

Bakels Mousse Mixes deliver smooth, airy textures ideal for layered desserts, plated formats or stand-alone applications. Available in:

  • Chocolate: rich and indulgent, great solo or layered
  • White Vanilla: light, neutral and ideal for flavour and colour development

Both are designed for easy integration into high- and low-volume production environments, with consistent set and texture.

The new range reflects growing demand for solutions that combine convenience with creativity, with recent data showing a 5% increase in chilled dessert NPD over the past five yearsi, driven by trends in indulgence, premiumisation and customisation.

Also part of the no-bake ‘Just Mix with Water and Chill’ range, the Cheesecake Mix creates a light vanilla base that’s delicious alone or easily customised with flavours, colours or inclusions. Simply add cold water, mix and chill – no baking required.
