Ali Lyons has been appointed as managing director of bakery ERP software provider Cybake. She replaces Jane Tyler, who founded the company in 1998 and remains as a director and the company’s majority shareholder.

Ali Lyons was previously Cybake’s retail partnerships director, working with some of the company’s largest clients, a role which she will continue. Before joining Cybake in July, 2024, Ali headed up food to go and café divisions at both Marks and Spencer and Morrisons Supermarkets.

Starting out in store management, she first followed a 17-year career path at M&S. This included various head office roles with a focus on hospitality which included leading M&S Cafés. Ali then spent four years at Morrisons where she joined as part of the senior leadership team with responsibility for the supermarket chain’s cafes, staff rooms, coffee and food to go concepts.

Commenting on the new board appointment, Cybake’s founder Jane Tyler says: “Ali has a wealth of leadership experience following over 20 years working for both M&S and Morrisons supermarkets in the UK across a variety of leadership roles.

“Ali’s specialism is in food-making, and she therefore understands the vital role that technology plays in both wholesale and retail environments to ensure customer satisfaction and maximum profit.”

“I will remain as the majority shareholder and a director of the business, and I very much look forward to seeing Cybake evolve and thrive under Ali’s stewardship.”

Ali Lyons says: “I am incredibly happy to be taking over from a leader whose values and vision are so aligned with my own. Jane led Cybake to its current market-leading position of rapid growth, so it’s a dream partnership.

“I have spent a career thinking about customers and truly understand the power of using digital operating tools in food-making places. It is great to be helping Cybake’s customers in the baking, food retail and food service sectors around the world to grow their profits with our solutions.”
