Now that the pandemic is slowly coming to an end, more events are opening up which are having great impacts on the industry. With more countries slowly allowing citizens to travel out of their country, this has meant that the international bakery community is allowed to reconnect with one another after many years. After extensive research, the International Bakery team came into contact with the event runners of GastroPan 2022, in this brief interview the showrunners provide all the latest information on what will be undergoing the event and how individuals in the bakery sector can attend this esteemed event. The GastroPan exhibition is already known in Romania and internationally as the most important exhibition showcasing equipment, ingredients, solutions, and technologies for the bakery, pastry, confectionery, ice cream, chocolate, coffee and HoReCa industries taking place in Romania. However, this interview provides greater insight into how the event is running after years of rescheduling due to Covid-19. So, let’s enter the world of GastroPan 2022!  

What is GastroPan 2022?  

The next edition of the GastroPan Exhibition, confectionery, ice cream, hospitality and food service industries, bringing together suppliers from around the world with Romanian professionals, will be held from 3-5 April 2022 in Romania, in the city of Brasov. Numerous important suppliers of equipment, ingredients and technologies have already expressed their intention to participate at the 13th edition of GastroPan, the only international exhibition of its kind in Romania. In addition to the demo shows held at the exhibitors’ booths the three-day exhibition will host GastroPan Competitions, acknowledged for awarding the “Artisan and Industrial Bread of the Year” and “Cake of the Year” prizes.  

It has already become a tradition that novelties of the bakery, confectionery, hospitality, ice cream and food service sectors are being launched at GastroPan exhibition, an international event that marks the launch of new tendencies and technological innovations, bringing together the world’s leading producers and distributors of equipment, ingredients and raw materials, accessories, packaging, technologies and IT solutions.  

What will be occurring at the GastroPan event?  

The GastroPan 2022 event is considered to be the bakery, confectionery, ice cream and HoReCa event of the year. The most spectacular live demonstrations, latest technologies and solutions, international trends, unique offers and promotions of the most important suppliers of the bakery, confectionery, HoReCa, gastronomy, pasta, coffee, ice-cream, chocolate and milling industries will welcome visitors at the most grandiose event, GastroPan International Exhibition!  

Where will the event be taking place and why have you picked this location?  

The 13th edition will take place in the city of Brasov. GastroPan 2022 will take place in Brasov, at Lux Divina centre. The fact that Brasov is located in the centre of Romania, the location is easily accessible from a logistical point of view and has a generous parking lot, as well as the existence of numerous accommodation possibilities, even in the event centre that will host the exhibition, are the main factors that contributed to making the decision to organise the exhibition in this city. The most important reason, however, was the request of exhibitors, suppliers of equipment, ingredients, solutions and dedicated technologies from Romania and abroad, to move the exhibition to the centre of the country.
