ACI Group launches bakery webinar

ACI Group has launched a new webinar innovation series that tackles the biggest challenges facing bakery producers today. The six month digital programme aims to support bakery manufacturers with new product development or reformulation ahead of new legislation around HFSS products to come into force in the UK by October 2023. The webinar will take place from October through to March 2023.

“Bakery manufacturers have a challenging year ahead as the UK government continues to push non-HFSS products into the spotlight,” said Karsten Smet, Director of ACI Group. “With consumer demand soaring for healthier, ‘better-for-you’ products and raw material shortages that will continue well into 2023, there is a growing need for the bakery sector to look for new, innovative and sustainable approaches when it comes to reformulation.”

The programme will start with natural ingredients producer GreenField sharing its insight into how bakery brands can innovate with purpose by using clean label ingredients. The 30-minute webinar will focus on ingredients like cocoa fibre, dried fruit seeds and oat-beta glucan that can be used as alternatives in bakery applications.

“Our innovation series is designed to tackle these challenges. From reducing NPD and reformulation costs to using great tasting, clean-label ingredients that deliver value-added health benefits, there is something for everyone in our webinars,” Ms Smet added.

Coming months will see guests from GoodMills Innovation, IFF and data analysts Nutrition Integrated to share their expert insight via the webinar series.

“For our suppliers, supporting their bakery customers from ideation through to innovation is paramount to them meeting consumer demands and legislation requirements next year. We are pleased to be able to provide them with a platform that can facilitate this,” concluded Karsten.
