The American Bakers Association (ABA) recognised five members of Congress with Baking Industry Champions Awards.
“Commercial baking is a foundational part of America’s food system, providing safe, nutritious, and affordable foods while supporting communities nationwide,” said Eric Dell, President and CEO of the American Bakers Association. “The Baking Industry Champions Awards recognise elected officials who understand the importance of this industry and have worked to advance policies that help baking continue to feed America and drive economic growth.”
Those honoured with the 2026 Baking Industry Champions Awards are:
- Representative Sharice Davids (D-KS 03)
- Representative Donald G. Davis (D-NC 01)
- Representative John Joyce M.D. (R-PA 13)
- Representative Darin Lahood (R-IL 16)
- Senator Jerry Moran (R-KS)
“Commercial baking is a cornerstone of communities across eastern North Carolina and throughout our nation. Every day, America’s bakers feed families with safe, affordable food while supporting farmers, manufacturers, truck drivers, retailers, and millions of jobs across America’s food supply chain. The Congressional Baking Caucus is proud to champion the workers and businesses that strengthen local economies, enhance our nation’s food security, and help nourish America,” said Congressman Don Davis.
“The baking industry connects Pennsylvania farms, processors, manufacturers, and families to tables across the country,” said Congressman John Joyce, M.D. “Commercial bakers play a vital role in nourishing communities and supporting the American economy. I’m proud to champion policies that help this industry continue to grow and serve families nationwide through the Congressional Baking Caucus.”
The Caucus aims to address vital issues like workforce development, regulatory reform, supply chain efficiency, and ensure the needs of commercial baking manufacturers are represented in Congress.
