Futureproofing your business at CBA’s Business Day

The Craft Bakers Association (CBA) is inviting craft bakers and bakery industry supporters to its Business Day on 14 June 2023. The engaging event will empower bakers to future proof their business with a programme including presentations from industry experts on key topics such as consumer attitudes to craft bakery, Primary Authority Legislation and how to make the media work for your business.

There will be plenty of opportunities to network with colleagues across the industry as well as the chance to promote products and services by entering the bakery competition, exhibiting on the day or sponsoring the many activities.

The must-attend event will begin with the CBA’s AGM, when National President Neil Woods will step down from his position and President Elect Patrick Wilkins will be installed as National President 2023/2024 and welcomed into his new position.

Industry experts speaking include Howard Saunders, Retail Futurist speaker; Amy North, Editor of British Baker; Dr Devon Petrie from the National Bakery School and more, who will share their insights, expertise and advice to help businesses prepare for the year ahead.

Bakers are also invited to showcase their expertise by entering a range of products into a new competition which will be judged by experts on the day with results announced during the evening. Products will be judged within categories including Sourdough, Vegan Bakery, Innovation and more.

During the evening, guests will enjoy drinks at a rooftap bar and The Guardian Food Writer Felicity Cloake wil be sharing her thoughts about bread and bakery.

“We are very excited to welcome CBA members, supporters and other members of the baking industry to our Business Day. It’ll be a great opportunity to showcase all that the craft baking industry has to offer and acknowledge the resilience and importance of the industry, especially during the challenging times we have all faced recently and continue to do so,” commented Karen Dear, Director of Operations, CBA. “We’re also looking forward to thanking our National President, Neil, for his outstanding work and welcoming incoming President, Patrick, who we’re sure will be a great addition to the association.”
