Flexible packaging and lidding films supplier KM Packaging is happy to announce the establishment of its business in Australia as it expands.
In what the company is calling “an important landmark,” KM Packaging Services ANZ has been established in Sydney, New South Wales, as of 2 December 2022.
The company has been exporting to Australasia since 1996 and outside of the US, it marks the company’s second biggest export market. As a result of continued growth and success, the KM business is now at a scale that can support further international development, a key part of the company’s long term strategic growth plans.
“This expansion has been two years in the planning, and we are excited to build even stronger relationships with our partners and customers in the region,” said John Shipley, Business UNit Director for the Australian and European markets at KM Packaging. “The move will allow us to explore new opportunities right across the chilled, frozen and ambient ready meal, convenience and fresh produce, and protein sectors.”
To support the initiative, Tammy Spencer has been appointed as Business Unit Manager based on the Gold Coast in Queensland. She has extensive experience and most recently served as Business Manager – Packaging & Polymers at TCL Hofmann and previously with Multivac.
“The establishment of the ANZ company and Tammy’s appointment allow us to provide local time zone support. We now have a greater dedicated resource to offer KM’s wider range, site visits and provide an enhanced service to our customers ‘in market’,” added John.
“KM has always had a strong reputation in the ANZ market. Customers spoke highly of their service and quality, so I knew they were a business with a strong customer focus and core values that I admire,” Tammy Spencer said.
