pladis France has invested €5.4m in a dedicated Mini BN production line at its Vertou site, near Nantes, following strong demand for the range and continued momentum behind one of France’s best-known biscuit brands.
BN has been part of French family life for nearly 130 years and remains one of the country’s most loved biscuit brands. Today, BN ranks as the third-largest brand by volume in the French biscuit category and second in spontaneous awareness and is consumed by more than 50% of families with children.
The investment comes as BN continues to perform strongly in France, with the Mini BN range growing by more than 20% between 2023 and 2025.
Recent innovation has also helped support this momentum, including the launch of BN Del’ice in April 2025, with ice cream-inspired flavours including Brownie and Cookie Dough.
Full Line Intergation
Commissioned in October 2025 and now fully operational, the new Mini BN line covers the full production process from dough mixing through to case packing, giving the Vertou site greater flexibility and capability. The site has also achieved a major production milestone, with more than 600 million Mini BN biscuits produced since commissioning, underlining the strength of demand for the range and the role of the new line in supporting future growth.
Magali Moreau Genetay, General Manager, pladis France, said:
“BN is a much-loved brand in France, with a unique place in the hearts of consumers and a long-standing manufacturing history in Vertou. This investment is an important step in supporting the continued growth of Mini BN, while strengthening the site’s capabilities and preserving the know-how that has been built here over many decades.
“The successful commissioning of this new line is also a real achievement for our teams. It reflects the commitment and collaboration of colleagues across Engineering and our wider cross-functional teams, who worked together to bring the project to life.”
