New store for Birds Bakery

Birds Bakery

Birds Bakery will be opening its 63rd store in the East Midlands, bringing its range of baked goods to customers in Teal Park in Netherfield, Nottingham.

The deal, which was brokered by FHP Property Consultants, will see the company open its 1200 square foot store in early September and create eight new jobs. It will be joining a number of names on the expanding business park including Aldi. The site is also home to a new school and day nursery.

“Teal Park is an exciting new location for us and we’re looking forward to being part of a growing community. After the last few years, it’s great to see so many new businesses opening their doors in the area and we can’t wait to join them,” said Mike Holling, Sales and Marketing DIrector at Birds Bakery.

The company was founded in 1919 and has been providing sweet and savoury treats to families located in Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire. Teal Park marks the company’s 63rd store in region and 25th in Nottinghamshire, with stores also in Wollaton, Sherwood, Arnold, Mapperley and others. Just last year it opened its 62nd store on Melton Road in West Bridgford.

The new store is due to open in early September and will feature a selection of Birds Bakery classics including the Caramel Doughnut and Cream Puff, a hot food counter serving food on the go including sausage and bacon cobs and rolls, and coffee from Nottingham’s 200 Degrees. The store will have in-store seating for customers wanting to enjoy their purchases.

“We will be focusing our offering on food to go, with delicious, freshly made hot and filled rolls, savoury snacks and sweet treats … The new opening forms part of our expansion plans, with discussions about more new stores in other locations across the East Midlands already underway,” Mr Holling added.
