Plant-based pizzas

Wicked Kitchen

Wicked Kitchen, a company which produces 100% plant-based food, has added new frozen artisan pizzas and frozen heat-and-eat meals to its growing range of plant-based consumer packaged goods in the US.

Its meal solutions are now available in almost 2000 Kroger stores throughout the country, to appeal to both vegans and omnivores. The company also has more than 40 products available in multiple departments at US retailers, after first being launched in the UK by brothers Derek and Chad Sarno.

“Shoppers no longer have to sacrifice taste or convenience when looking for plant-based meals,” said Pete Speranza, CEO of Wicked Kitchen. “Our latest Wicked Kitchen line up is inspired by cuisines from around the world and while they happen to be plant-based, they are meant to be enjoyed by all – whether you’re preparing a meal in a dorm room or looking for a quick and easy lunch or dinner that’s veg-forward and full of flavour.”

Its latest product launch includes artisan frozen pizzas, made with hand-stretched dough and wood fired crust with Wicked’s new vegan ‘motz’, a meltable plant-based mozzarella style topping. It also offers the Wicked Meaty Pizza with plant-based ground sausage, the Saucy Motz Pizza with vegan motz and the Rulebreakin’ Rustic Veg Pizza, with sautéed mushrooms and vegan motz. The retail price is expected to be US$9.99 a pizza.

Bringing its vegan ready meals to shoppers, Wicked’s offering includes their Naked Burrito with Beyond Meat, Korean Inspired Bowl with Beyond Meat, Peng Panang Tofu Curry and Seriously Sriracha Tofu and Rice. The retail price is expected to be US$5.99 a ready meal.

“In true Wicked style, we are raising the bar in the convenient meal space. Our chef-crafted, vegan meal solutions make it easier than ever for everyone to ‘taste the world’,” said Derek Sarno, Co-Founder of Wicked Kitchen. “Handcrafted and delicious, our pizzas are unlike any others in the frozen aisle. They feature big flavour ingredients, hand-stretched wood-fired sourdough and a second-to-none plant-based ‘motz’ with amazing meltability.”

Wicked currently has the largest variety of any plant-based brand in the US, as its products are available in more 6500 retailers in the US including Kroger stores. They are also available at City Market, Dillons, Fred Mayer, Fry’s, Gerbes, and others.
