Bakery Live introduces Gitte Vaes

Ahead of the must-attend virtual event Bakery Live happening next month, 21-22 February, we are pleased to announce our first speaker; Gitte Vaes, Product Manager Functional Fibres at BENEO.

As Product Manager for Functional Fibres at BENEO, a role which she has been in since 2022, Gitte’s focus is on the Americas and BENEO’s latest additions to its functional fibre portfolio. She is driving the global development of BENEO’s Functional Fibres range by identifying opportunities, developing market-oriented solutions and potential innovations that support BENEO’s ambition of connecting nutrition and health.

As growing numbers of consumers become conscious of their lifestyle and diets, a major trend explored at Bakery Live will be looking to reformulate bakery products to be healthier, as bakers face associated production challenges to reduce levels of fat, sugar and salt.

With this in mind, understanding how to reformulate bakery products as well as ingredients that perform well in processing and comply with existing legislation is becoming increasingly important.
