New research crowns Banana Bread as the world’s trendiest food, with over 275 million views on TikTok and 2 million posts on Instagram.

Further findings from the study include:

  • Viral desserts prove to be the most popular food trends on social media platforms, with banana bread ranking first place and desserts including creme brulee, ice cream cake and mug cake all featuring in the top 10.
  • Chinese food was the most popular cuisine on social media, with an annual search volume of 32 million in the last year.
  • Pizza was the most popular dish of all time on social media, with 14.8 billion views on TikTok alone.
