Who’s Who – Verhoeven

For decades, Verhoeven Family of Companies has been developing innovative solutions for industrial bakeries worldwide. This year marks a special milestone: 25 years of Verhoeven Bakery Equipment Family. Since BVT Dough Process Solutions became part of the family business in 2001, the organisation has grown into an international group of specialist companies, combining engineering expertise, bakery knowledge and turnkey solutions. The anniversary is reflected in this year’s theme; “No Future Without History”which was showcased at Verhoeven’s booth at Interpack.

T4-Centre: Where innovation meets practice

This year also marks another important milestone with the opening of the new T4-Centre in Oss, the Netherlands. The new facility, which stands for Technique, Technology, Test & Taste, reflects Verhoeven’s belief that the best innovations are created in collaboration with customers. Rather than developing solutions behind closed doors, the T4-Centre offers a practical environment where bakery professionals can validate ideas, optimise processes and experience new technologies under real production conditions.

The modern test bakery enables customers to run production trials, develop new products and optimise complete bakery processes before taking the next step towards implementation. Whether improving production efficiency or testing the integration of new equipment into existing lines, the T4-Centre provides a collaborative platform where innovation becomes tangible.

Visitors can experience the wide range of technologies offered by Verhoeven Bakery Equipment Family. At the core of the facility is a versatile universal make-up line, enabling customers to test a wide variety of bakery products, from breads and rolls to laminated products and much more. Its flexible set-up allows bakeries to evaluate new concepts, optimise product quality and fine-tune production processes in an industrial bakery environment.

Among the technologies demonstrated at the T4-Centre is Vacuum Cooling & Baking, an innovative technology that significantly reduces cooling time while creating opportunities to optimise oven capacity, improve production flow and ensure excellent product quality. Together with the universal make-up line and other integrated technologies, it enables customers to evaluate complete production concepts before moving towards implementation.

Sustainability and innovation

Sustainability also remains an important driver for innovation. Circular innovations such as Repeatloaf demonstrate how return bread can be transformed into a valuable fermented bakery ingredient, helping bakeries reduce food waste while supporting more circular production processes. Combined with intelligent automation and energy-efficient production systems, these developments underline Verhoeven’s commitment to building the Bakery of the Future.

As a family-owned company, Verhoeven believes long-term partnerships are just as important as technological innovation. The T4-Centre has therefore become more than a demonstration facility; it is a place where customers, technologists and bakers work side by side to develop practical solutions for real production challenges.
