Reading Bakery Systems (RBS) has promoted Matt Risser to Director of Sales for its Exact Mixing business, with responsibility for global sales of the company’s continuous mixing systems.
The appointment, announced on 31 August 2026, follows the retirement of Jim Warren, who has worked in the baking industry for more than three decades and has been closely involved with Exact Mixing since the 1990s.
Risser has spent 17 years with Reading Bakery Systems, working with customers across a range of bakery and snack production applications. His experience includes mechanical engineering and project management, providing a technical background for his new role supporting manufacturers adopting continuous mixing technology.
Global sales responsibility
As Director of Sales, Risser will work with bakery and snack manufacturers looking to improve production consistency, efficiency and automation through Exact Mixing systems.
Reading Bakery Systems CEO Chip Czulada said Risser’s combination of technical knowledge and experience working directly with customers would support the continued development of the Exact Mixing business.
Risser said he intends to build on Warren’s work while continuing to help manufacturers address production challenges and implement continuous mixing systems in bakery operations worldwide.
Warren has played a significant role in the development and adoption of the technology during his career. According to RBS, he has worked with hundreds of manufacturers since joining Exact Mixing in the 1990s.
Czulada acknowledged Warren’s contribution to the company, its customers and the wider baking industry following his retirement.
Continuous mixing focus
The management change comes as bakery manufacturers continue to examine automation and process control within mixing operations.
Exact Mixing systems are designed to meter ingredients continuously into a mixing chamber, producing a constant stream of dough rather than operating through individual batch cycles. The technology is used across applications including bread and buns, biscuits, cookies, crackers, pretzels, pizza and baked snacks.
For industrial bakeries, continuous mixing can provide an alternative where tighter control of ingredient delivery, consistent dough production and integration with automated production lines are priorities.
Reading Bakery Systems supplies bakery and snack processing equipment through brands including Exact Mixing, Thomas L. Green, Reading Pretzel and Reading Thermal. Its portfolio covers mixing, forming and baking equipment alongside oven profiling and process consultancy services.
The company is based in Robesonia, Pennsylvania, and operates as part of Markel Group.
