Bridor taps into on-trend ingredient with new pistachio-filled croissant

French bakery manufacturer Bridor has unveiled a new pistachio-filled croissant to tap into the growing demand for pistachio-flavoured products.

The new, indulgent croissant is available now to hospitality and foodservice operators. Made with Bridor’s renowned pure butter puff pastry recipe, the crispy and light croissant has a smooth and meltingly soft pistachio centre, with a chopped pistachio topping adding a slight crunch.

Pistachios are an on-trend ingredient with global social conversations around the nuts increasing by 10% over the past year1. Research also shows that 78% of Europeans want to try filled Viennese pastries2, whilst 40% of British consumers are looking for croissants with original flavours3.

Erwan Inizan, Northern Europe Sales Director at Bridor, said: “Pistachio-based products have taken the food industry by storm in the past 12 months, with consumers enticed by the bold green visuals and wholesome nutty taste. We’ve used our Viennese pastry expertise to craft this new pistachio-filled croissant, so that hospitality operators can expand their Viennese pastry offering and meet the demand for alternative croissant flavours.

“Pistachio pastries and sweet treats are becoming increasingly popular on social media as the vibrant green colour makes for an Instagram-worthy photo opportunity. We are confident that our newest offering will help drive sales for our customers.”

The new 85g pistachio-filled croissants are available in a convenient, ready-to-bake format, ideal for breakfasts and sweet breaks during the day. They are available now via all leading foodservice wholesalers.
